Hunting and fishing in GTA 6: every line of source material, and where it stops
Mount Kalaga is described as offering prime hunting, fishing and off-road trails, the Grassrivers wetlands have gators and worse, and one boat is sold as perfect for casting in Gambit Bay. That is the entire record — and this page does not stretch it.

Of the places Rockstar describes in the state of Leonida, Mount Kalaga is the one that puts the two activities on the record: “a national landmark up against the state’s northern border”, it “offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails”.
That sentence is the whole of what the material says about hunting and fishing as things you do. Everything below it is adjacent: the wild places described so far, and the boats and bikes listed as items. Treating adjacency as proof is how a page like this goes wrong, so each block here says which one it is.
The wild parts of Leonida, as described
| Place | How Rockstar describes it |
|---|---|
| Mount Kalaga | A national landmark on the state’s northern border, offering prime hunting, fishing and off-road trails, with hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals living in the surrounding backwoods |
| Grassrivers | A primordial expanse where the gators are the most famous attraction, and far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries wait among the mangroves |
| Leonida Keys | A tropical archipelago sitting on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America |
Only the first row mentions the activities by name. The other two describe water and wilderness — a setting where fishing and hunting would fit, which is a different claim, and a weaker one.
The one item that says fishing out loud
The Shitzu Squalo, a gradient pink and blue boat docked at Washington Beach, is described as “perfect for casting in Gambit Bay and reeling in catches of all sorts”, and made open-ocean-ready with an explosives-laden weapons crate.
It arrives as an edition item, not as a described mechanic: Take-Two frames the Ultimate Edition as “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story”.
So the word casting comes from a store shelf, not from a gameplay walkthrough. It still matters — a boat sold for reeling in catches implies something to reel in — but the wording that reaches the reader here is a sales line, and this page labels it as one.
Two more items pointed at water and dirt
Jason’s safehouse vehicles include a Crest Kayak alongside an Army fatigue-tinged Dinka Enduro motorcycle, and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy is described as “a Mud Club monster offering impressive offroad handling for the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond”.
That buggy line is also the only place where an item and a wild region are tied together by name, since Mount Kalaga is where its backwoods handling is aimed.
What none of this says
When Rockstar shows either activity in motion, this page gets the section it is missing. Until then it stays what it is: the short list of lines that exist, kept apart from the ones people wish existed.
