GTA 6 DualSense controllers: the two limited editions, the price and the pre-order date

Two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers — Black and White — shown at State of Play, at $84.99 USD, launching November 19 with pre-orders from September 10. Everything PlayStation says about them, and nothing it does not.

Last updated

At a State of Play showcase, PlayStation shared a first look at two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI: the Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition.

Both are priced at a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD, ¥12,480 including tax, €84.99 and £74.99, and both launch starting on November 19 — the same day as the game.

Pre-orders open September 10

PlayStation states that pre-orders for both the Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition open on September 10 at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET in the United States, and at 10:00am local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg — through direct.playstation.com, in limited quantities.

The two editions, side by side

EditionHow PlayStation describes itWhere it is sold
Black Limited EditionCaptures the energy of Vice City's nightlifedirect.playstation.com where available, select retailers elsewhere
White Limited EditionVice City at daybreak: white sands, pastel skies, laid-back glamourdirect.playstation.com globally and participating retailers

PlayStation frames the pair as two halves of the same city: the black and white controllers each capture the essence of Vice City, from bright days along the coast to vibrant city nights.

What the finish actually is

  • A shimmering, color-shifting finish that brings together the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights
  • Custom palm tree details molded directly into the controller, described as a tactile element alongside Grand Theft Auto VI branding

Molded, not printed — that is the one word in the description that separates these from a sticker job. How it feels in the hand is something no post can tell you, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

What the controller does in the game

PlayStation states that in Grand Theft Auto VI the DualSense wireless controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers instantly respond to the action and provide dynamic resistance, bringing the sights, sounds and sensations of Jason and Lucia's story to life in your hands.

That is the same feature set any DualSense already carries. Nothing in the post says these editions behave differently from a standard controller — the difference on the table is how they look, and where you can get one.

Why Vice City is the pitch

The same post sets the scene it is selling: from sun-soaked streets to bright neon lights, the city is framed as Leonida's ultimate destination when players jump into Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19.
